Woodpecker General Store offers the Hudson Valley a prime grab+go market and deli. We also do catering! Our core values are efficiency, quality, and mindfulness. We strive to serve the entire community's needs by offering grocery essentials, as well as made-to-order sandwiches + homemade sides consisting of local, seasonal ingredients. You will be able to taste the difference!
Woodpecker General Store provides the good people of the Hudson Valley and beyond with a dependable neighborhood market/craft sandwich shop for everyday needs. Additionally, we welcome day-trippers and tourists, as they journey through New York’s beautiful river valley.
Woodpecker General Store was created by Gerard, a chef and professor, and his business partner, Kelle.
What Makes Us Different
Woodpecker General Store is an atypical market. People love our market because we sell quality local products. Our products are interesting, eco, and artisinal -- great for gift-giving for weddings, house-warmings, or dinner parties. We have crystals, greeting cards, bath+body, home+kitchen, gift sets, and more! We even have everyday necessities.
As for our kitchen, our menu is deliciously simple and features quality chef-crafted sandwiches on artisanal bread. All side salads, scones, and other goodies are 100% housemade using the best local ingredients. Gluten-free, dairy-free options are available.
Chef Gerard is currently a professor at The Culinary Institute of America here in New York, and his priority is supporting Hudson Valley farmers, purveyors, and innovators. All local products have been personally selected by Chef Gerard and represent the best of what the region has to offer.
